Meet Our Team​

Robert Schenck

Robert Schenck is one of the founding partners of The Legis Group. He has lived in the northern Tampa Bay Area for 38 years. He is a graduate of the University of Central Florida and has been an elected official both at the county and state level for twelve years in the state of Florida.

Robert graduated from the University of Central Florida in 1998 with a Bachelors Degree in Social Science Education. After graduation he became a high school history and economics teacher. He taught for four years before being elected to the Hernando County Board of County Commissioners.Robert was elected as a Hernando County Commissioner in 2002 at the age of 27. At the time of election he was the youngest county commissioner in the state of Florida.

In 2005 he was selected as Chairman of the Board of the Hernando County Commission. After his first term as Commissioner he was elected to State House of Representatives.Robert was elected to the Florida State House of Representatives in 2006. He served the full four terms allowed under Florida law until 2014.

While in the House of Representatives he had the privilege of serving on many different committees. He also had the honor of being Chairman of five different committees.While in the House, Robert chaired the Government Operations subcommittee for two years. He then served as Chairman of the House Redistricting subcommittee and he also chaired the Health and Human Services full Committee.

In his final term he served as Chairman of the Select Committee on Gaming and he also served as the Chairman of the Rules and Calendar Committee. Some of the marquee legislation he passed included the Florida Medicaid Reform package, the original opioid crisis reform and the comprehensive campaign finance reform package.Because of his vast experience in the legislature he is an expert on the legislative process. This allows him to effectively advocate for any client in all fields before Florida Government.
